Gary LoMonaco
Director
Gary LoMonaco is a director at The Alta Group and the leader of Alta’s Business Assessment practice. He draws on his vast experience in vendor finance, executive leadership skills and passion for new challenges to help Alta clients succeed. His areas of expertise include financial management, captive/vendor finance programs, structuring and funding managed services contracts and credit leadership.
Gary has a breadth of experience in equipment leasing and finance and in vertical industries such as healthcare and information technology. Before joining Alta in 2021, he was chief financial officer for Symbria, Inc. At Symbria, Inc. he was responsible for the financial management of the senior care provider, negotiating and maintaining bank credit facilities, financial reporting, risk management, insurance and other related duties. Prior to that he was vice-president of finance and treasurer of Sirius Computer and its predecessor entity, Forsythe Technology, Inc., an IT solutions provider, lessor and financier of IT infrastructure equipment and services. During his decade there, he provided executive management of Forsythe’s equipment and services leasing and financing product group, raised private equity capital, negotiated bank facilities, structured and obtained third-party financing for managed services finance contracts, and managed a number of other critical business functions.
Before joining Forsythe, Gary spent the bulk of his career in vendor finance at Banc of America Leasing and Capital (BALCAP) and Heller Financial, Inc. At BALCAP he managed the major accounts unit within Global Vendor Finance, generating approximately $1 billion in annual volume. At Heller, he held a range of positions, including Senior Credit Officer of the equipment finance businesses, general manager of the company’s technology vendor platform, head of Heller’s SBA business unit and member of their Corporate Development team, specializing in assessing equipment finance acquisition targets.
He is active in the equipment finance industry, having twice served on the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Board of Directors and formerly chaired the association’s Captive and Vendor Finance and Independent Middle Market steering committees. Gary also chairs the finance commission at his church and enjoys golf and working on his antique cars. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Southern Illinois University.
